The aim of research is to know and discuss deeper about 1) the implementation of headmaster supervision include planning, organising, implementation, and controlling in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, 2) the substances that supervised by headmaster for teachers at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, 3) the strategy in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, and 4) the obstacles, feedback and problem solving of headmaster supervision in increasing the quality of teachers performance at SMA N 1 Yogyakarta. The research is a descriptive by using the qualitative approach. The informants consist of the headmaster, vice headmaster, teachers, committees, students and parents student.
The collecting data is through on observation, deep interview, and documentation. The data is analyzed by using reduction, display, and verification. The validity of data is obtained through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The result of the research shows that 1) the management supervision of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta has been good. The headmaster has done supervision schedule, estimate planning, ordered a senior teacher to help supervising, controlling and workshop.
2) the substances that supervised are learning administration, implementation, and learning control, 3) the strategy in increasing teachers performance has done by increasing planning ability, implementation and evaluation learning., 4) the obstacles in management supervision are the schedule of supervision and the problem is solved by using consultation the headmaster, senior teacher who ordered to help to supervise and curriculum vice headmaster to get deal of the effectivity schedule supervision.
Academic supervision conducted by the principal is one of the factors affecting the increase in the quality of education in schools. To realize the improvement of the quality of education, the principal requires good planning in developing supervision programs to improve the professionalism of teachers. The purpose of this study was a) to determine the ability of the principal in planning supervision, a) strategy principals carry out supervision, c) policy principals in following up the results of supervision, d) the factors supporting and inhibiting supervision, and e) the achievement of academic supervision that conducted by the principal. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects were teachers at SMAN 1 Blang Pidie, Aceh Barat Daya.
Supervisi merupakan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan Kepala Sekolah sebagai bentuk evaluasi kepada Guru Kelas atau Guru Mata pelajaran dalam hal pembelajaran di Kelas. Supervisi dilakukan kepala sekolah Kepala Sekolah atau Guru Senior sebagai bentuk Penilaian teman kerja. Hasil dari kegiatan Supervisi ini akan dilaporkan kepada Pengawas Sekolah atau Pembina Sekolah.
The results showed: (1) Planning supervision carried out by the school principal has been running optimally, the principal who made planning supervision. (2) technical-tiknik implementation of academic supervision carried out by the school head has been systematically and have a plan so that teachers feel their support of principals in improving the quality of learning. (3) Follow-up of the supervision is done by noting the deficiencies in the current classroom observation, calling the teacher personally, and discuss the results with the teacher council meeting. (4) The inhibiting factors include the competence of the academic supervision head of the lower school, while the other supporting factors principals and teachers have the commitment, motivation, and a sense of family that performs implementation of academic supervision already achieved effectively despite some shortcomings in carrying out academic supervision is very assist teachers in improving and increasing the quality of teaching.
